Today’s drawing comes from deeper into the city of Jormundael. Far below the city itself and it’s trading docks and homes lies the heart of this trading hub. The mountain range surrounding Jormundael is rich with minerals of all forms from copper and gold to iron and tin, as such the mines underneath the city are expansive caverns as the rock is thoroughly searched for any ores or minerals that might be of use. New veins are exposed all the time and the wealth of the mountains seems to be nearly limitless. The production from the mines has only increased with each year since the first founding.
I feel like I managed to capture the atmosphere I wanted to create in this initial design, the mines are supposed to be visually imposing chasms of visible wealth and entering them would be something that would take your breath away.
