Inktober 2021: Day 30

As we come to the end of this inktober and my initial sketches for some of these project ideas I wanted to go back to the first location to create a truly monstrous creature. In the storm wracked plains of Aeryallon, Stormlings and Rock Trolls are not the only things to watch out for. Lurking amongst the shattered stones and deep caves are the fearsome storm born man-eaters known as Gordrack. These monsters hunt and eat whatever they can get their claws on and are more than capable of taking down well armoured targets, their own armoured hide appears similar to the rocky terrain around them and they use this as an advantage to ambush unwary prey. They are incredibly adept climbers being able to cross the broken terrain with ease, they are also equipped with powerful jaws and a spiked tail for breaking smaller boulders blocking their path which is not a difficult task for them seeing as they range from eight to sixteen feet in length from nose to tail. Gordrack are one of the main reasons that people travel in large groups when crossing the wasteland from one village to another, this unfortunately does not help much if the Gordrack decide to hunt as a pack.

I was very pleased with how this drawing turned out. I feel like I managed to establish the environment as well as creating a pose for the creature that implies both a sense of weight and movement. I also like the design of the creature itself and hope to work on it more as the project continues.
