Today I wanted to go back to the sea giant from yesterday and create a different version of the design. They are capable of diving to great depths to access sunken supplies or treasures that may have gone down with trading ships destroyed by storms. They are excellent swimmers and extremely capable at crafting any tools or items they might need for hunting or protection. They exist both in and out of the water, often finding caves with direct access to large bodies of water in which they can hunt and scavenge. They are a covetous folk who will create vast hoards of anything they deem valuable, unfortunately this can sometimes lead to them coming ashore to raid villages for prizes that can only be found on land.
In this drawing I considered the possibility of sea giants relying on some form of bio-luminescence in order to attract unwary prey or to provide light when performing more complex tasks. I was also experimenting with features like the tail and larger fins to give them the appearance of being more mobile underwater. This might be something that changes when the sea giant moves from water to land and vice versa, the webbing between their fingers and the long powerful tail only appearing or extending on contact with the water. I intend for these giants to be of quite some size ranging from 10 to 25 feet in height. I am also tempted to design some that are even larger based on the concept of deep sea gigantism that allows creatures like squids and whales in real life to reach enormous proportions because of the conditions of the deep sea.
